After working long nights (2am last night) this week, I'm am all set to go on holiday. For once the computer is staying home! Anders and Thomas also did a fantastic job of clearing out the apartment for the photographer to come take photos for our sale ad.
We are taking Aeroflot to Hong Kong, despite all the negative things we heard about it. It was the cheapest and on top of that, the shortest. When I booked the trip, I was cleaver enough to think that we can have a 19 hour lay over to have a day in Moscow. I was stupid enough to not have thought about visa issues. The cost of a visa is around $300 for Americans and around $100 for Norwegians. On top of that, Anders also booked the wrong night for the hotel night at Moscow that couldn't be changed. He booked a Saturday night stay instead of Sunday because we arrive at Moscow at 12:40am on Saturday. Yes, should of booked a Friday night. All the added cost, we decided to chance for standby or spend 19 hours at the terminal. Let's hope for possibilities to pay for access in the lounge.
Anyhow, long story short...all the complications, we are finally on our way. Two nights in Hong Kong, 10 nights in Philippines, 12 nights in Malaysia, and top it off with 3 more nights in Hong Kong.
It's Anders' first time backpacking and staying in cheap hostels / guest house and in Asia!!! Culture shock start!
Wish us a safe and fantastic journey!
